A tour different from anything that is offered in the city, as Athens is not only the ancient monuments, it continues to live through the course of the centuries. This is a 2,5 hour historic architectural walk along the newer history of Athens through the surviving residences in Plaka, the old neighborhood under the rock of Acropolis. We will walk together under these important for the Athenian traditional and neoclassical architecture residences, built in the period of the Turkish rule and the first period of the Modern Greek State. A tour from the Yard of Miracles, due to the findings, in this building block, to the only still surviving visible residence in a drawing of 1674, an Aegean island settlement at the edge of the old neighborhood until the oldest surviving residence in Athens (15th-18th century) and the tower-form building of an ex Turkish police department and watch tower.
This tour is really unique, totally different from anything offered in the city. Ideal for those who want to learn about the urban traditional and neoclassical architecture of Athens in the last centuries, revealing a slightly protruding view of the city, walking under old mansions, important for the urban and neoclassical architecture developed in the shadow of Acropolis.
